Care Guide
Caring for Your Acqua Limone Garments
At Acqua Limone, we believe in creating clothing that stands the test of time. With a little care and attention, your favorite pieces can last for years, maintaining their comfort, style, and quality. Below are a few simple tips to help you make the most of your garments while doing your part to reduce waste.
Wear More, Wash Less
You might be surprised to know that most garments don’t need to be washed after every wear. By giving your clothing a little more mileage between washes, you’ll save time, energy, and water, and your garments will thank you. To keep them feeling fresh, simply hang them outside for a breath of fresh air, or use a steamer to smooth out wrinkles — a steamy bathroom works wonders, too.
Tackling Stains
Stains happen. The key is to treat them as quickly as possible to prevent them from setting in. You don’t need harsh chemicals to get the job done. A gentle, eco-friendly option like gall soap works wonders. Just dab the stain (don’t rub!) and it should lift right out.
General Washing Tips
When it is time for a wash, following these guidelines will help keep your garments looking and feeling great:
- Lower temperatures are better: Washing at 30°C is often all you need to clean most garments, and it’s gentler on both your clothes and the planet.
- Full loads save energy: Wait until you have a full load to maximize water and energy savings.
- Hand-wash when necessary: For delicate items, hand-washing in lukewarm water is always a safe bet.
- Choose eco-friendly detergents: These are kinder to your clothes and the environment. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners; they wear down fibers faster.
- Use a washing bag: Protect your more delicate pieces by placing them in a washing bag. This also helps reduce the release of microfibers into the water system.
- Turn garments inside out: This helps preserve color and fabric quality when washing.
- Hang dry, always: Shake out your garments after washing and hang them to dry. Outdoors is ideal for that extra fresh feel, but indoors works great too. Skip the tumble dryer — it weakens fibers and uses up unnecessary energy.
